Igor and Luba are actors with the Saratov theatre. During the festive season they earn extra money by going from house to house dressed up as Father Christmas andthe Little Snow Maiden. Keeping to tradition, once they have given out all the presents to the children, they spend time with each family. Between these visits and other more intimate moments, the film paints the tender picture of a family and that of a Russian society which is losing its bearings.
